what is “Dwell”

2 Corinthians 6:16 “I will make My dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

Dwell stands for: Discipleship, Worship, Encountering, Love, and Life.

D — Discipleship: we dwell in discipleship. Jesus poured into His personal relationships with the twelve disciples, did life with them, and led them to the cross. When Jesus left this world, the disciples became even more like Him. We believe that discipleship is a constant growth of being more like Jesus within relationships. (Matthew 28:19)

W — Worship: we dwell in worship. Worship looks like walking in the park and talking to God. It looks like music where we come to His feet. Every time we gather together, we will dwell in worshiping the King of Kings. (Colossians 3:16)

E — Encountering: we dwell in encountering. When two or more are gathered, He is there. Dwell focuses on God’s Word that is living and breathing and through worship, prayer, and hearing His words, we believe in true encounters with Christ. (John 4:28-29, 39)

L — Love: we dwell in love. Beginning a new journey, especially as a young woman, feels daunting. Dwell wants to love on you in every stage, pray with you and celebrate you in the big and small moments. When you walk into Dwell’s doors, we pray that you feel truly seen, heard, and loved. (1 Corinthians 13)

L Life: we dwell in life. Life is already hard, but it gets easier when people come alongside you to carry your burdens. We want to do life with you in raw and authentic moments. We invite vulnerability in our Shilohs that are promised to be met with love and gentleness. And no, your burdens are not too heavy. (Galatians 6:2)
